Study Tours and River Management Institutions visit in Switzerland: Aquasis invited to present out work
The eleventh meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management under the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention) was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 18-19, 2016.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation joined hands with the Swiss Water Partnership and the Geneva Water Hub to organise a study tour in Switzerland targeted to the Pakistani and Afghan delegates participating in the above mentioned UNECE Water Convention meeting. The study tours was primarily focus on transboundary water management and also tackle the issues of disaster risk reduction (flood management), and hydropower and dam management. The study tour aims at getting to know the Swiss policy and approaches related to these topics including their history (or the rationale behind) and to provide space for reflection on lessons learned, potential to adapt and transfer / replicate the Swiss experiences in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and next steps.
José Luis Carrasco was invited as a speaker to present to the Pakistani and Afghan delegations our expertise on integrated water management and sustainability of supply chain with Swiss Agro-food industries in water scarce regions.
